That's reserved for EOD. (Explosive Ordinance Disposal) But hey, if our EOD guys just so happen to get on that show, you might see me on there too.

Hope you're doing well bro. I'm not sure where the Army is focused right now but from talking to some Marines who just got back, I'm hearing the situation is at least improving somewhat.. Haha there's so much I could talk about but OPSEC needs to be observed naturally.

Stay safe killer. Wish I could be out there with ya.

Oh Kevin, no you don't lol. Well, I dunno you seem pretty highspeed lol. Only thing I'm looking forward to is getting back home and buying that ring for kuppicakes. Then take her out to Jamaica. Vacation will be needed.

Hope you are doing well over there man. Got a buddy over there right now. He is due back home in April. Had another buddy serve 2 tours. It's takes balls to go over there IMO.

Jamaica especially will have just what ya need t' unwind after all this madness.

None the less actually keepin' yer **** together. One can't praise enough soldiers who willingly make the choice.

We aren't all deserving of the praise. Some manage to join the military and not do a damn thing their whole career besides dip out of details and fake injuries so they don't have to go out on missions.

That is true for some but the ones that do care and put their life on the line surely are deserving of praise, despite what people say about the war.

Not dead yet! (There were a few times though >_>)

Anyway, as most of you that are paying attention know, I was part of a platoon of tankers. Proudly. Top gun in the entire Army. Big deal.

...Well they took me away and threw me back to the infantry grunts, all along with a promise of a promotion I have yet to recieve.

So the days of patroling in a tank have now turned to patroling on foot, all open and vulnerable. Hate it. Not to mention IEDs have changed for me. Use to I'd lose a tire, now I'll lose a leg if it happens. Hopefully not, unfortunately a good buddy of mine did infact have this happen to him just last month. Poor guy, I was mad as hell that day. Bastards took his leg. He's taking it pretty damn well though, making jokes about getting prosthetics and free pancakes from IHOP for the rest of his life thanks to his new Purple Heart.

Anywhore, foot patrols through the villiages around here makes you get a better perspective of the people that live here. Still primitive, still poor, still very very needy. And most just outright rude, especially the kids. Having kids throw rocks at you when you're trying to help them is just a big slap to the face. And the ones that dont throw rocks at you just swarm around you asking and begging for stuff. Snacks or pens mostly. Especially pens. Heres a quick little bit of info for you guys. "Kalam" means pen in their language. Learned that real quick. I have no freaking clue what their obsession with pens are here, but every time we go out, every single kid we see just constantly says over and over again, "Kalam! Kalam! Kalam!"

Ugh, but I'm nice to them. I'm nice to all the locals in general. Even the ones giving us a hard time. Hey, gotta show them we are a lot nicer than the Taliban if we want the people to cooperate with us and not them, right?

That ain't funny... ._.;

Why the hell'ed they throw ya t' infantry?

Condolences t' your newly-decorated amigo. I sincerely hope such a terrible event don't weigh 'em down in life any more than it needs to.

Because, unfortunately, I am infantry. I just got tasked with driving for the tankers in our Company, got put there for almost a year and wound up loving it, while I hated life in the infantry. Now Im just looking for a way back. And thank you

Can't say I'd mind drivin' a tank myself.

On the topic of promotions... what rank are ya?

Sure, if I was like that. Bodine telling privates what to do? Not me. I hate those kind of Specialists. The kind who think they're Sergeants already, and are dicks about it. I'd be like some Spc that I've known. A guide, not a boss.
