camecube games on wii

I recently bought the legend of zelda promotional disc for gamecube can i play this on the wii as i have tried and the wii remote doesn't seem to work but the game seems to come on and go into the startup screen. any help would be appreciated. Also do i need to buy a memory card for the wii to save games or does it have an internal memory.

The Wii has internal memory for Wii games, but for Gamecube games you need to insert your memory card, and also your GC controllers in the compartment on top of the Wii, just open up the little "doors" on top and you'll find where the controllers AND MEMORy cards go, you can't play GC games with the Wiimote, sorry

You cant use the wii remote with gamecube games. You gotta use gamecube controllers.
