Cant find my 2nd special ability

This is wierd... Ive just finished getting the 16 insects from Kakariko Village, and im on my way back and I dont see the wolf in the springs, what do I do to find him and get my 2nd special abillity?

Don't worry, you haven't missed anything. You'll see a rock on your way up to Death Mountain (it makes a whistling sound). Click on it (in wolf form) and howl the tune, then you'll be given the location where you can get the next ability.

Aww man you seroius? Im not a wolf anymore.... and on all the guides it just told me to walk back to the springs ..

u can turn back at will with the master sword later i think

Hmmm, im already up to the back slash and in the water temple... Yet i'm stuck with nothing to do in it because i have no idea how to get past where i am!
