Cant register Wii number?

When I go in and try to register our Wii number on the Wii, it comes back and says it cant register.

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong. I'm typing in the number that the Wii says it is, but it never will register.

I don't think you can register your own number.
Only other people's console numbers.

You must give that number to friends, and the number that you receive from friends, is the one you must enter.

you can regester ur wii but on nintendo.com u regester for a free 90 day worrenty
