Capcom might not be making anymore wii games soon.

Did this chap buy any Capcom games?

Company focusing on HD consoles in future

Capcom have developed some of the greatest games on Wii - Resident Evil 4, Zack and Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure, Okami and more - but they haven't always been greeted by the sales they deserve. Sadly it seems Capcom may be growing tired of underwhelming returns on their products, if a recent interview is to be believed. Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles seems to be the straw that broke the camel's back, with fewer than 16,000 units sold in the three weeks before Christmas. Speaking to French website Gamekult, Capcom France's Director General Antoine Seux had this to say:
This is the year of the emergence of so-called ‘new console generation’. The Wii is still an important part of sales, but growth is on both [Sony and Microsoft's] platforms. The Wii console is very much a family commitment… for us, Capcom, the future is the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360.
The "new console generation" presumably refers to Project Natal and Sony's Gem Wand controller, so perhaps Capcom feel it's fully explored the Wii Remote's capabilities and is fed up of being outsold by sports compilations and party packs. At least the console will still have at least one last Capcom hurrah, with Monster Hunter Tri scheduled for April this year in European territories.

In before Stic.mode whines and writes a reply to Sega as if they read these forums.

Public Service Announcement: All companies that have claimed not to support Wii any longer with non-"family entertainment" because they are dissatisfied with sales may go cry in a corner together.

That is all, thank you.
