Capcom Unveils New Character Art From Tatsunoko VS Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars-1.052009-12-02 11:12:25Maura SCapcom has today highlighted two of TvC’s characters by releasing some fantastic artwork to feast your eyes on. Gold Lightan is a giant robot creation from Tatsunoko that also doubles as a cigarette lighter, whereas PTX-40A hails from Capcom’s Lost Planet and is, in Capcom’s words, “the finest Vital Suit ever produced.”

The premise of the game is to pair well-known characters from Capcom with favourite characters from anime powerhouse Tatsunoko Productions.* Among the 20-plus characters available to play in the game will be, from Capcom’s side, Ryu and Chun-Li from Street Fighter, Morrigan from Darkstalkers and Mega Man Volnutt from Mega Man Legends. Tatsunoko will contribute the likes of Ken the Eagle and Jun the Swan from the Science Ninja Team Gatchaman anime, cybernetic warrior Casshan and comedy action hero Yatterman No. 1.

So just how will all these amazing characters do battle? Well, the gameplay combines elements from Capcom games such as Street Fighter and is designed to cater for all difficulty levels, from novices to Street Fighter experts. Players can choose from the combined roster of fighters to create tag teams to send into the ring. Incidentally, both Gold Lightan and PTX-40A get to fight alone as they are too big to have tag partners! The actual gameplay can be as simple or difficult as you want to make it. If you’re an old hand at Capcom fighting games in particular, you’ll have lots of amazing combos to try and master, including Aerial Rave combos, Variable Assists, Hyper Combos and Variable Combinations.

This iteration of TvC is actually a new version of the original Japanese game that was released in arcades and on the Wii in December 2008, complete with lots of brand new features, including new playable characters Frank West and Tekkaman Blade.

Tatsunoko VS Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars will be available for the Wii in North America on 26th January 2010.
