What is the deal with this "it has to be online" crap. It's a feature that isn't new, nor standard.

Here's the original interview on Gamepro:
Personally, I don't mind that it's not online. It's not created to compete with Halo, and as such, shouldn't be seen as Nintendo's answer to it (especially as how it's retro studios that are developing it, not Nintendo themselves).

Also, may I add that it sounds like it was never really meant to be online. If you want to blame people for breaking yuor expectations, blame those that got it wrong in the first place.

Meh, a bit disappointing but not too bad. Metroid was never really about multiplayer.

As has it been confirmed that MP:3 isn't online.

It's nothing new. They tell you, no one listens. They tell you again and people ignore it. Then they tell you again and maybe now people will accept it and get over it.

Not a good move, I guess. I don't see how making it online would have hurt anything.
It pro'lly has to do with them wanting to get the game out sooner, since it's been delayed like hell. Online would take a while to develop.
And yeah, I'm still wondering how SSBB is gonna turn out online. Only time will tell, I guess. Heh.

Of course. It will be the third game with online play for the Wii (Pokemon will be the second (?)).
They need to do experiences, or else it will be a even more disappointment. Metroid Prime 3 is a FPS, and FPSs in online need to be fast. If the Wii online play is not that good for FPSs, then we will only see online FPSs in 2008...

Think about it was MP:H online really good? its not the best not the worst, we survived prime 1 without multiplayer and it was awesome, maybe its for the best.

It's your own fault if you got your hopes up for online in MP3. There have been indications for a long time that it wouldn't have online. The box art came out last week and there was no online sticker on it. All signs pointed to no online, yet people still refused to accept it and now they are mad at Nintendo.

Metroid would suck online. People looking for an MMO out of Metroid that is the farthest thing you would get out of it. Metroid doesn't even get different guns or anything. If you want an example of what Metroid would be like online play Metroid Prime: Echoes. That really sucked for multiplayer. It was absolutely terrible.

If you were going to buy MP3 before knowing it wasn't online you are still going to.

Don't be retarded and try to act like you are going to boycott the game because it's not online. Nintendo is smarter than you, they know what sells metroid games.

Metroid Prime multiplayer is lame deal with it.

but that's the thing, it could. they could easily create an online multiplayer mode that could be as good as halo's. and with the single player being much better than halo's campaign crap, MP3 could be the next great game and overtake the halo series.

yes it is! both XBox360 and PS3 have an online mode for nearly every single game they come out with. even the ps2 and xbox had online for just about all the games, or atleast every one i played... nintendo is really screwing up with this online stuff. online is the future. i know that they lost thousands of sales after no online is confirmed.
