I've recently purchased a Wii and one extra controller for a total of two. There are two issues I need help with:

    (1) Only controller #1 will turn the system on or off, and

    (2) Once in the game "Wii Sports" the cursor (hand) for Controller #2 is a transparent red color. Only controller #1 (blue) will permit the pressing of the A + B buttons as requested to proceed to the game.

    Is this normal?

The controllers appear to function normally otherwise.

    Thank you!

    (1) READ YOUR MANUAL!!!
step 1: open sd memory card door
    step 2: press red button
step 3: open battery cover on remote
    step 4: press red button
    step 5: enjoy

    (2) Yes. Player 1 has most of the control, except when player 2 is choosing their Mii.
