DS Wi-Fi Questions

I have alot of ds games.

some have the blue wi-fi icon.

like in mario kart and didi-kong racing you can race with people worldwide.
in animal crossing you can visit towns.
in pokemon you can trade and battle others online.

but two of my games have the icon but idk why they are wi-fi

legend of zelda phantom hourglass and final fantasy III

how are these games wi-fi?

In LoZ - PH......Players can compete with a friend over local wireless or Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection as they guide Link through special battle stages to capture Force Gems or command the forces that oppose him

Zelda PH has a wireless battle mode.

FFIII allows you to send moogle mail to your friends.
