its "whats the deal with......"

its a stupid technicality....if you REALLY want to be difficult about the question, its really "why". Jerry sienfeld (a native NYer ive met many a times) always opens a comedic routine with "why...." or hell start off "whats the deal with....."

but people tend to remember the "whats the deal with" instead of "why"
