game genie help

Alright guys, need some major help here.

I just bought a game genie from ebay. Now the seller tells me they tried it on several games and it worked fine. Now I just got it in the mail and I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong?

Basically I put the game on the genie and then the genie into the SNES. Now one thing I don't get is about the green LED. do you switch and leave it on or not? I'm not sure what that switch even does?

Also, only 2-3 of my games work it seems. The rest basically load the game genie page and then you press enter and it just shows a black screen. No audio or video... I found 1-3 of my games work.. but I don't think any cheats work on it..

anyone know what I can do? it's not really worth it for me to ship and pay to send it back to get a refund..

The switch enables the codes. If for example you input a code for infinite time you may need to turn it off to let the time run out so the level can end.

The games that don't work probably need a master code.

so what's the master code? I tried putting

Select on main menu for Kooler Stuff Menu
D42B-1FD8

and nothing happent.. almost like the cheat isn't working?

I've used game genie on emulators.. but now with actual SNES and game genie.. it isn't working..

most of my games show a black screen too when I finish the game genie section.

I think CE8F-3FB7 BA23-372z is the master code

Do you have the switch in the on position before turning the system on when you entered the cool menu code?

I tried both ways.. having the switch with the light on.. and with it off.. didn't work both ways..

so for all codes you want me to try

CE8F-3FB7
AND
BA23-3727?

tried it.. still nothing...

im wondering what could be causing a issue? and why does only 1-3 of my games I have at the moment work.. the rest show a black screen after the cheats area...?

btw I opened the GG and it says SNES 1.0..
