Everyone loves fighting games, and everyone loves dinosaurs, so combining the two in a video game certainly makes a lot of sense. Combat of Giants Dinosaurs Strike for the Wii is the latest instalment in the million-selling Combat of Giants franchise, and has been designed exclusively for the Wii by Ubisoft Quebec. The game immerses the player in a cataclysmic Jurassic world, where they can choose a dinosaur from 18 different breeds, such as T-Rex, Stegosaurus, Velociraptor, Triceratops, Ankylosaurus or Baryonyx, and customise their dinosaur with 12 colour options and different stripe patterns. They can even upgrade their beast’s horns, bone plates, fins or feathers to create as strong a fighter as possible. Six further dinosaur types can also be unlocked in Domination mode, where the player fights against eight other giant critters, one-by-one in ladder mode, before attacking the boss. The unlocked dinosaurs will then all be available in the multiplayer versus mode.

The main focus of the Combat of Giants gameplay is a fast-paced, three-round combat system, where the player has to use each creature’s specific abilities and powers. With the gameplay being based entirely on real-time actions, players must act and react as quickly as possible, launching super attacks while at the same time protecting themselves from the natural casualties of the cataclysmic environment, such as volcanic eruptions and earthquakes.

The game features three different environments (tropical forest, desert and mountain), and three different multiplayer modes: Versus, Tournament and Tag Team. Look for it to be released exclusively for Wii worldwide this November 2010.
