Gamespot's Game Of The Year!!!

Jimmer: In a sense, he was right... It did after all get 48,000 votes which is twice as much as SMG. But its like me making a website and me and my brothers make a vote on whats the best game of the year and we pick WWE Smackdown vs RAW 2008, because we are wrestling fanatics (I hate wrestling, its just an example). Its just not reliable to look at website review picks. But its alot more reliable to look at all picks as an average. Which I saw someone post it on gamespot forums, Bioshock is in 1st, SMG is in 2nd when counting how many GOTY they have won. I still haven't played Bioshock aside from demo, but I hear its really good. But I did play CoD4 Multiplayer Beta, and I had more fun playing that for like 3 days than i did my whole time playing SMG. Hell I had 20x more fun playing RE4 than SMG.

SMG has great graphics visually. Its beautiful. It probably is Wii's best graphics in a game.

lol, why? cuz he doesn't agree with you? I thought it was fun, but not great. Mainly because it was REALLY EASY, its like playing 1v1 vs a bot on counter-strike that never hits you, its too easy, so its boring. But I dont think it sucks, but to each his own.

But then again, he said its "sounds" like a pretty bad game, he hasn't played it yet.

Great to see it came through as game of the year, and from Gamespot of all websites! A good mixture of difficulty, breath taking visuals and very solid game play made it my definate pick for best of 2008.

Yeah SMG was fun but it didn't keep my hooked to the game 24/7 in my opinion if I had to pick a game of the year I would go with Zelda ,now that was a game which I was hooked on 24/7 (even though couldn't play it more than 2h a day since it was on a family TV ,now I got my own but finished the game a long time ago)

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess or Phantom Hourglass? Because Twilight Princess was a game of 2006, and it also did well in many Game of the Year awards at the end of 2006. It was a Wii launch title.

Super Mario Galaxy deserves the win. I think GameSpot gave to them partly so people would stop saying that they are prejudiced against Nintendo.

Gamespot isnt a Wii hater, Wii just had alot of shitty games this year and everyone knows it. Aside from Nintendo, the developers have sucked except for a few games.

What sucks about gamespot that is obvious is how a game gets double the votes as SMG but loses. Even though the votes were basically for fun to see what the people thought, it just shows what game actually is better. It just so happens a few people who work at gamespot happen to be Mario lovers and decided its better.

I liked SMG alot, but im sorry its just not better than Call of Duty 4 and Crysis and its obvious the majority agree. Thats why I hate awards that are "best of year" but its not voted by the people. Thats why I like awards like MTV's viewers choice award, which is the highest award there is for MTV Music Video Awards. But the people are the ones who actually get to vote, instead of a small group of people who decide. Thats like 17 white guys, 3 black guys voting for best video of the year, chances are there is no way a rap video will win.

GOTY should voted publicly, but using a voting system that isnt abusable.

Btw, IGN also had shady business, but it wasn't as bad as Gamespot's Kane and Lynch. It had to do with Assassins Creed, which also had to do with advertisments. But the guy went back and started editing things and was caught.

I agree with you, wow, the game that got the most votes shoulda won.
