Getting into the Temple of Time

I can not get into the Temple of Time - I have tried every way I can think of to jab the sword into the place where I got it originally - but I can't do it. Has anyone else had this problem? I know I have done everything correct up to this point - moved the big block and so on... I just can't get the sword into that darned slot!

You probably already put it in and don't remember it. Head back, climb the block, and look for the Door of Time. Enter it and you will be transported back in time to the Temple of Time.

If you didn't already insert the Master Sword, then there should be a statue blocking the Door of Time. Approach the front of the slot and press A to strike it.

 

[Pull Up A]

No - I tried that several times - but the good news is, finally a prompt came up on the screen and I was allowed to insert the thing - I am almost to the end of this temple/dungeon except I am stumped even though I have the BIG key -- whoop-de-do...
