We are kicking off 2012 in some big ways at the Gunslingers. Of what has already been published, here are the updates:

GS Monthly Member Spotlight - This feature where we randomly select an active member to learn more about via an interview is back for the New Year! This time, the interview, which published in the Gunslinger Blog, is accompanied with an avatar pic of the current spotlit member and link on the GS Forum Index. The January Edition features none other than MikeyFromSantee! Learn more about him by reading his interview, and we look for February's edition!

Faster Forums - We have taken the time to rebuilt some of the guts of the GS Forums, so the load times are faster and easier to navigate! A Gunslinger has got to be quick on the draw, after all.

New Arcade Game - The crossword puzzle-meets-television trivia game, TV Game Show, has been added to the GS Arcade! GS*C0uchC0mm8d3r holds the current high score. Can you knock him off?

I will be posting our New Year updates throughout the week. If you are mature, casual gamer looking for a place that lets you kick back and game with other adults at your own pace, this week is the perfect time to join the Gunslingers! The fellow mature, casual gamers are enjoying the first Frosty Pints of 2012. Every Friday and Saturday is Frosty Pints at the Gunslingers. For those of you new to our group who may not know exactly what that means, here is a quote from our Frosty Pints Page:

Crack open your favorite brew, stop by the GS Chats and connect with fellow members for some drunken gaming fun. Going strong since 2008, Frosty Pints is a particularly great time for new members to meet other Gunslingers and to swap friend codes.

Frosty Pints takes place on Friday and Saturday evenings, which actually means all day Friday and Saturday due to having members from time zones across the globe. (Quite the bender, huh!?) The busiest times tend to be from 3:00pm PST and on.

If you are a gaming parent and/or adult, you are welcome to join us in our celebrations! Our doors are always open to those of you looking for an oasis from all the immature or abusive gamers, typically ridiculous clan demands, and groups that treat gaming like a second job rather than a fun social experience during your down time!

How much are you sipping at your coffee cups this Monday? Well, to offset the lull of returning back to the work week, here are some fun updates happening with the Gunslingers Clan:

Turbo Spirit XT Gold - The motorcycle racing game reminiscent of the classic Hang-On game, has been installed into the Gunslingers Arcade! Try to survive through all the circuits and place yourself on the top of the highscore list! GS, when we are not in-game, add a new game to our arcade every week!

Vote for Nintendo! - The 2011 Gunslinger Game Awards are taking place through the entire month of January. Help make Nintendo games represent well in the polls by casting your vote! There is a Best Game Exclusive to the Nintendo Wii and a Best Game Exclusive to the Nintendo 3DS category. Additionally, Conduit 2 is nominated for Best Shooter, Legend of Zelda: The Skyward Sword is nominated for Best Action/Adventure, Mario Kart 7 is nominated for Best Racer, and Kirby's Mass Attack, Kirby's Return to Dreamland, and Super Mario 3D Land are all nominated for Best Platformer. They need your support!

May the caffeine and some well placed Black Keys tunes get you through this Monday!

The Gunslingers clan continue to thrive, and the following passages are a few of the most recent updates to take place in our group.

Membership Milestone - It is official! The Gunslingers clan is officially over 3,500 members! That is amazing! We have so many fantastic fellow parents and adults that a mature, casual gamer never has to play amongst the adolescent-minded competitive sect of the gaming community again.

GS Arcade Addition - The motorcycle racing game, Turbo Spirit XT Gold, has been added to the ever custom Gunslinger Arcade. We install a new title into our growing library of arcade games every week so, when work stops us from being able to be in-game, you will find some of us battling for the top score in the arcade!

Gunslinger Game Awards - We are roughly half way through our annual game awards where we tally up our personal favorites from 2011. Cast your vote while the polls are open!

Voice Chat - The Gunslingers are trying out a new, light-weight voice chat option for those of us tired of the relying on in-game mics or the resource heavy alternative, Skype. Visit our clan's home site to give it a try.

Gunslingers Join Protest Against SOPA and PIPA - Today, you will notice blacked out banners on our homepage and forums as GS joins the larger internet community's protest against overly sweeping American legislation that could lead to rampant abuse of censorship.

Nearly all of them have posted introductions within the Introductions and/or Master Lists section of the GS Forums.

We strive hard to maintain a narrative in our group that is friendly, respectful, and utterly fun. With weekly tournaments and the long standing weekend event entitled Frosty Pints in which we collectively pour those drinks and head into game, you will find out just how fun gaming with fellow adults can be!

There are a few things that don't get mentioned enough in regards to the perks to the Gunslingers, and that is a shame because they contribute to why you may want to join us. An example of that is no ads. Your online travels are littered with people trying to make a buck off of you and your tracked data. Not at GS. We are banner and pop-up advertisements free!

Finally, we added a new game to our ever growing arcade. The game, which is all too fitting for the Gunslingers, is called "Amazing Sheriff." Help the Old West lawman smash those bottles!
