So all I have to do is buy some HD cables for my regular Xbox and connect it to an HD tv and I'm set with 480?? I always thought that you had to pay some subscription fee for HD lol.

I'm 19 and I feel that technology is going too fast for me haha.

Component Cables, although its not HD, thats will get you 480p resolution, HD starts at 720P.

if you've modded your xbox, you can run xbox media centre at resolutions
upto 1080i

i've got a PAL xbox which i modded (xecuter2.6CE, 160GB Maxtor HDD,
xbox media centre set as my dash). unfortunately the option for HD
on PAL xbox's was disabled by M$....to get around this i used enigmah
to switch the bios from PAL to NTSC and run my dash at 720p.

trouble is, the only NTSC game i've got that supports 480p is Soul
Calibur 2 which looks absolutely fantastic albeit not in widescreen.
it only allows for 4:3 which is a shame.

what other USA/JAP NTSC games run 480p? anyone supply me with
a list?

thanks.

i think though, at the time, 480p was considered HD still...before all the fancier resolutions were out

I'm quite sure that your'e right. I would like to mod my Xbox, but I don't really want to mess around with that. I tend to ruin things when I take them apart lol.

How much better do games look with the cables?

480p was never called High def. It was called Enhanced Definition. 720p/1080p is high def. Higher than that is called Super High Definition.

Well, on the back of most of my Xbox games it says it supports 480p HDTV.
