I noticed in the setup, TV Res option, the HDTV isn't available vs the standard TV. Is it true that it won't be available if the component cable isn't used? Or is this some kind of error of the Wii system?

I purchased a converter cable by GameStop and used it on my Wii to connect to a LED tv, the picture res is definetely improved but just no color. Anyone know the issue was? At the same time, HDTV option was still not available...

Please Help!!!

Wii tech support said the cable is faulty, however...

Thanks!!!

You must use a component cable to access the HDTV settings.

What is this "converter cable" you bought?

Before you try anything else, I'm assuming you're using the $14.99 universal component cable from GameStop. That being the case, there is a switch on the box in the middle of the cable. It ships with the switch in the TV position, you want to switch it to the HDTV. Do that, and you should have plenty of Color and 480p goodness. :) Enjoy
