Atari Inc and The Weinstein Company announced today that they are teaming up to publish a series of games based on the Emmy-nominated fashion reality TV show Project Runway. The first game in the series will be developed by Tornado Studios, and is scheduled to debut on the Wii in Spring 2010.

As with the TV show, players will assume the role of would-be fashion designers, undertaking a variety of challenges such as designing their own fashion lines and putting together outfits and looks for models. Players can also take to the Wii Balance Board to show off their own designs on the catwalk like a true supermodel, as well as assuming the role of fashion photographer at glamorous photo shoots. Other notable features include a fashion career mode as well as an interactive garment studio and hair and make-up studios.

Atari and The Weinstein Company also confirmed today that the game would feature the show’s talent, which to you and me means supermodel Heidi Klum and fashion expert Tim Gunn.

“We are thrilled to be in business with Atari as the Project Runway brand continues to expand, allowing fans to actively participate in the program they love by using this new medium as a tool to explore their creativity, said Harvey Weinstein, co-chairman of The Weinstein Company.
