help needed...plz bear with me

a bit new to this type of gaming. Have got as far as getting the oli lamp and finding way through the first set of caves....only trouble is that I am running out of life as son as i reach open territory...no sooner I am faced with the 'nasties' on the other side...
Really enjoying the game but clearly i am mising out soewhere down the line in making sure my life levels are high

i dont understand what you need, is it health or how to get passed somthink..

If its low health, just cut down grass, or if you are in yoru dark form, just turn on your senses and dig in the ground.

i need health.....as soon as link gets through that first cave..he is flagging. When it comes to killing off the nasties outside he falls to floor (GAme End)..just need to know how to get more life...pleeeez

Like Dougamer said, use your sword to cut down grass. You will find hearts that will replenish your health. Another good strategy is to kill the beasties before they get you.
