Help please

New to Wii. Have had trouble connecting second player for multiplayer mode of SuperMario Galaxy and Blazing Angels. We have tried holding down "1" and "2" simultaneously, but get no response. Is there some other way to join second player that we're missing?

might have to re-sync the wii-motes.

You may need to sync your additional Wiimotes.
Which can be done by pressing the red button inside where the batteries are and where the sync button is on the Wii inside the SD card flap on the front.

If you need more help with syncing, check your Wii manual.

If we can use the Wiimaotes to add players in WiiSports and WiiPlay when prompted to press "1" and "2", doesn't that mean the Wiimotes are synched?

because games like those promt you to, me and my bro had the problem as well, you need to sync everything for em to work

I believe pressing 1 and 2 was a workaround they added if the remotes aren't synced.
