How do I get out of the house that's on fire?

I'm in wolf form, in Kakariko villiage. I'm collecting bugs, but in one house, there is a fireplace, and a log you pick up to set fire to the fireplace. I set fire to the fireplace, and three bugs run out and the house starts burning fast. I try and escape back out the hole but it won't let me. Do I have to kill the bugs fast, or just escape and let them burn?

Find the hole and press A to enter it when you're in front of it.
