How to unlock all Mariokart tracks/characters?

What is the quickest way to unlock all the track in Mariokart? I treid the mushroom cup (50cc), won all four races and got nothing? How do I get all the tracks and hidden characters?

Unlock Expert Ghosts:
Beat a regular course ghost at least seven seconds faster than it to unlock the course expert ghost.

Unlock Alternate Opening Screen / Alternate Ending:
Get a 1 Star Rank, or better, in ALL Cups, including Mirror Mode.

Unlock Special Credits:
Win all trophies in a class to view the credits and see a congratulations screen featuring your Mii with Mario and Peach. Win all Grand Prix Cups to get another congratulations screen featuring your Mii with all the racers.

Quick Start When Race Begins:
When the countdown begins, wait until the number 2 begins to disappear. At that moment hold the 2 button to get a boost when the race begins.

Obstacle Speed Boost:
When you fall into an obstacle, press 2 at the same time you land to boost.

Profile Name Stars:
To get a star next to your profile name on the results screen and WiFi races, complete all Grand Prix races with a certain rank:

One star profile name: Earn a 1 Star rank in all Grand Prix races.
Two star profile name: Earn a 2 Star rank in all Grand Prix races.
Three star profile name: Earn a 3 Star rank in all Grand Prix races.

Misc Mario Kart Wii Unlockables:
Picture option to send to Wii Message Board - Complete all 8 Cups in a class
Karts & Bikes (50cc) - Earn trophies in all 50cc Grand Prix Cups

Yeah, to unlock the chick from Mario Galaxy, if you don't have the game or a saved file borrow it from a friend or just rent it if you really want her.
