Nintendo of America announced today that it has teamed up with Hulu Plus to offer Wii owners with broadband Internet access a new way to watch their favourite movies and TV shows by subscribing to Hulu Plus for $7.99 a month, which will enable them to instantly stream current hit shows such as Family Guy, Glee, New Girl, Vampire Diaries, The Office, The Biggest Loser and Modern Family, as well as full back seasons of shows such as Community and Grey’s Anatomy. Children’s programmes are also included, such as Arthur, Wild Kratts and Dinosaur Train. There will also be thousands of movies available to download from Miramax, among many others. [/FONT]

Wii offers the most entertainment fun for everyone in the family, with an impressive selection of streaming movies and TV shows in addition to an unparalleled lineup of games that can't be played anywhere else," said Tony Elison, Nintendo of America's senior director and general manager of Network Business. "The Wii console is the hub of the living room, and with the addition of Hulu Plus, millions of households now have even more options for streaming premium TV shows and movies."

To get Hulu Plus, simply download the free Hulu Plus app from the Wii Shop Channel, which will enable you to navigate using the Wii Remote controller and search for your favourite shows, movies, clips and much more. Other content offered by Hulu Plus includes Hulu Latino, which has hundreds of hours of current and classic Spanish-language TV, including the entire current season of prime-time TV shows from Univision, Galavision and Telefutura.

For the first month of launch, users who download Hulu Plus for Wii and don’t already have a Hulu Plus account will have a two-week free trial.
