I Need Dragon Ball Help please

In dragon ball Z for wii, how do you do transformations? I've been trying to transform into a super saiyan for a while now. I know that you press the "1" button with a direction on the control stick, but it wont do it. I also know i need a certain amount of blast stocks (which i had at the point). Can anyone help me with this?

have you unlocked the transformations by playing through story mode?

until you can play as super saiyan in the story mode you cant transform.
when you win a battle it tells you what you recieved and when is says something like super saiyan goku you can then transform-
also depending on who it is you might have to do that item fusion thing

You will be teached how to do it. Just press 1. If you want to go back, press 1 + up.

You need 1 of energy to be able to transform
