I used to play a little bit of Mortal Combat, and enjoyed it along with DEf Jam and Tekken, would this be a good buy for me?

it depends what you like. I thought it was SF2:Turbo so i bought it. I beat it in about 15 mins... pretty easy but fun if you have friends to play. Or you could wait for MK:Armageddon :)

I don't think you'd like it based on the fighting games you like.

Well I own the game on my virtual console. Its a bit on the slow side but its still the only fighting game worth owning thus far in my eyes for right now.

I would say no. Hold out for Super Street Fighter 2, or Hyper. Super Street Fighter II Turbo was actually released on the SNES. But very few areas on the planet carried it. I even own SF Alpha 2 on my SNES. Personally I feel Super and Turbo were the best SFs of the entire series.
