I should point out here that the death of the Sun is not the same thing as the Big Crunch (the Universe can continue on without our inconspicuous little star), nor is it likely there will even be a Big Crunch, according to what we know about the Universe.

Oh yeah, I'd like to know how this guy managed to work out the exact time the Sun will "explode" (even though it won't).

It's stupid that this clock counts down seconds... There's almost no chance that he'll get it to the second. :lol:

He'd be lucky if it was accurate to within a few million years, let alone seconds.

it's possible to get a pretty close estimate..we know the mass of it, and what elements make it up. as well as the rate it burns matter..

so the hardest part is really knowing how long it takes to expand.

Like I said, he'd be lucky to get an accuracy to within millions of years. Ironically, in astrophysical terms that is actually pretty accurate.
