First off i suck at this game, everyone i've played online has handed me my own a$$ but to say it's cheap because i don't know how to do the stuff they do(i don't discon either, i take my whooping fair and square). I know you aren't saying you can't do it, you're saying that you chose not to. I would find it cheap if someone constantly pulled the same trick over and over again or used some sort of code or alike. But the tricks you seem to be talking about are basically what the game is all about. If these "tricks" weren't employed in the game they would be extremely low scoring as the goalie would stop almost anything.But if that's the case it sounds like you're looking for Fifa instead of MSC. It's like playing a fighting game and getting mad that someone used a combo, or playing madden when someone fake punts.
Just my opinion.

Not true ... like i said before, i try to play a clean game with good passes to charge up the ball and just regular shots with the good shooters on my team, and i can score about 4-5 goals a game. unlike what that douche warwick says, scoring like THAT takes skill ... jumping over the goalie, transporting into the net, even chip shots to yourself are all cheap moves for an easy score.

and to respond to Big-o-rhyme's last post :
i agree with you ... all i did was start a post to mention how the level of competition in the game has gone up and how i will continue to disconnect against any player who can ONLY score these ways ... like dodabird said generally most of the players i play against use these tactics maybe 2-3 times a game which is fine, if i lose to them, i'll take it. its those pansies (warwick) who score 10 goals a game without one skillful goal that i refuse to let win.

i'm not saying it doesn't take skill to score a goal basically any which way in the game. all i'm saying is i wouldn't call it cheating if the programmers of the game intended it to be part of regular play. I'll continue to take losses from whomever i play however they play since an online gaming record really doesn't mean anything to me anyway.

If you don't like Boo going through the goalie, Toad jumping the goalie, Waluigi, Daisy and Dry Bones teleporting into the goal or Diddy Kong jumping the goalie, don't give them a chance to do so. That of do it straight back at them. They are not cheap moves, they are DEFENDABLE moves that are part of the game.

That said, If I'm beating someone 10 - 0, and that person is obviously a beginner, I'm not going to crush their spirits by constantly doing fancy moves, whether they be the ones I've mentioned or simpler things like Shy Guys skillshot. I don't want to discourage them from playing.

if i'm up that much and they haven't scored, i allow them to score. as long as i know i've secured the win, i'll let them score as many times as they want. this gives them some points, but it doesn't affect me because i still get the W and the 20 points.

jhathaway I'm really sorry but I've reported you.
I hate to do this to a fellow Striker, especially since I do sorta feel that your point, if more intellectually presented, could have some validity. I really, really do. But calling someone a douche, even if he is being a douche, after many people have asked you guys to both be amicable to each other is just all I can take.
Please, one of you at least take the "bigger man" stance and get this bickering off our forum.
If Warwick responds harshly to your insult I will report him too.
I hope you guys can resolve your differences, or take it to personal messages, and continue to enjoy the game and the forums, and move on.

With that said, my two cents are this: Chipping and teleporting techniques require practice and timing. If the timing of Boo's teleport move is off by a few milliseconds, it will fail. Even if the timing is perfect it will sometimes fail.
Shooting is almost random. Kritter can deny a team of all Monty Mole some dozen white hot shots in a row coming from all kinds of different directions, and then let a purple shot from Toad roll right past him while he scratches his head. Admittedly sometimes the shot is truly sweet, and you can tell from Kritter's position he most likely will not be able to stop it. But the feeling you get from one of these well set up shots is the same feeling a trick player gets when you've allowed his Dry Bones a wide open lane down the corner.
A team that is able to take advantage of both of these styles of scoring will most often defeat a team that focuses entirely on one style, because they will be able to take advantage of all situations.

It's great for us all to disagree, but when we turn disagreements between sportsmen into flamewars, it makes us all look bad, and turns away potential members to the forum.
Also, I hate disconners and campers.

In all honesty, you both need to settle down.....yes you too Warwick, lol.
But still, i humbly agree with warwick for the sake of, I use chips all the time to score, i don't spam and i can pass and shoot with the best of em....and i know this because i play the best of them. I have a life, but video games are a part of it and yes i did sit down and practice the chips so i could use them to my advantage but only because i have lots of free time in college and wanted to better my game....like i said settle down and enjoy the game to its FULLEST which includes, dekes, pass and shoot, teleports, chips, items and all. The computer uses them...ive had Dry Bones deke into the goal many times on me on extreme, same with waluigi and daisy its programmed into the game for that reason and manyothers.

And as for chips and trick shots...its not cheating, its EXPLOITATION of the game code and AI, taking what we have and working it to our advantage, learn them if you want to...if you dont want to then dont, just don't complain that you can't do them or can't stop them.

and most of all....

Enjoy the game when you lose, and appreciate you were beaten and learn from it, thats when your true character and sportsmanship shine!

i've done all the cup levels and honestly maybe had drybones roll into the net twice and waluigi teleport maybe twice as well, so those chumps who claim that the computer uses these lame moves all the time are over-exaggerating. anybody who uses these methods as their main means of scoring have no real skill

i'll tell you what i am. i'm an islander who was raised in a village (and a REAL village, not some small town makeshift one) where it was either man up, or step down. i'm not trying to be tough at all--just stating what i knew as i was growing up. you and warwick have been bickering since the beginning of this thread, and all i was implying was that had you two been from my village, this would all have been over already because the two of you would have already fought. understand? i'm not trying to be tough at all, j. calm down.
