Linking wii account to nintendo account Error Code 206401

Hi guys

Im trying to link my nintendo account to my wii, but i keep getting this error code 206401 i know its something to do with having alphanumeric symbols but the only one i have is the @ in my email address.

I know its probably been mentioned before, but any help will be very much appreciated.

Well, if you used your email address as your account name for your nintendo account, you're SOL because the wii account link thing doesn't use HTML, so it can't break the @ sign down to an HTML-friendly character.

I got it working by just repeatedly re-trying it
