As a player new to the Madden series, what the hell are Madden Cards?

I bought 3 sets of Madden cards with the points I earn in the games.
What do I do with these?
I see these Cheat cards in there as well, how do I use them and can I use them against a CPU team?
What is the use of the player and coach cards?

Hopefully one of the many people here can answer my questions.

When you pause during a game there is a "Madden Cards" option. Go to that, you can choose to 'play' one of your cards and it will affect your team in whatever way the card describes. Note, the option isn't available in all modes.

Yeah, forgot about that...you can unlock the locked historical teams this way too

You just have to try...and if you look at a card, it says exactly what they do...I'd check but I'm lazy
