Mario Kart :: Mote?

I'm just a second away from buying Mario Kart 64 on VC, but then I see that it is only playable on classic controller and gamecube controllers, is this true? Or is it playable with the Wii mote? (hope so)

Well I know, and it doesnt show the Wii Mote (i know!) But just wanted peeps to give a shout if they had any experience with the mote //Mario Kart..

You can only play it with a GC controller or the classic. No other way around it.
