Heads up NASCAR fans, your favourite sport is about to get its own game. Activision Publishing and developer Eutechnyx today announced that NASCAR The Game 2011 will be released on all major consoles, including the Wii, in February 2011. The development team working on the game has gone out of their way to speak to the people that know NASCAR best – the fans – and take their insights to the teams, drivers and officials to completely embrace what makes NASCAR America’s Number 1 motorsport.

Players can choose to play as themselves or as one of the sport’s real-world drivers as they battle it out for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Championship. Each pro driver has the AI characteristics of his or her real world counterpart, setting the stage for intense rivalries played out on the track. Damage is extremely detailed, and multi-car wrecks are the most extreme ever experienced in an officially licensed racing game. All 22 real-world tracks are featured, as well as full pit stop strategy action.

Fans in the US who are eager to see a glimpse of the new game can tune in to NASCAR RaceDay on SPEED at 10am EST Sunday October 3 for the world premiere of the first official NASCAR The Game 2011 trailer.
