Need for Speed Carbon: A few tips for help

I'm new to this forum but I have found that for whatever topic (cars, school, boats, games) you are stuck on, all you have to do is find the experts that are willing to share a little info and you can do anything.

I just got my Wii and NFS Carbon. What is the best way to evade the cops. Sometimes nocking stuff down just doesn't do it. Any better tips?

Also, is there a trick to drifting in the drift races? I can drift a little but I've tried it a bunch of times and I don't even get close to getting the points that i need to "win"?

How in the world does the computer get so many points drifting? every time it crosses a check point their points sky rocket! Anyone know how?
