Need Help With My WII !

hey all

ive always put my Wii on standby when not using it and have always turned it back on by pressing any button on the Wii Remote , however i tried today and it will not get the Wii back on from Standby Mode , instead i have to use just the power button on the remote?

Can anyone help me out please ?

its probably when you hold it to turn it off for a little to long or mabe it not online to put it on stand by mode
