It’s certainly been a little quiet on the major game release front for Wii at the moment, but Nintendo gaves us all something to look forward to in the hopefully not too distance future with the announcement today of the forthcoming European release of epic Japanese RPG Xenoblade Chronicles exclusively on the Wii. The game, known as just Xenoblade in Japan, comes from Monolith Soft, who also made the excellent XenoSaga series, Eurogamer reports. The game is set in a universe where two worlds, Bionis and Mechonis, are embroiled in an endless war, which the player becomes part of as they join the battle for Bionis and help repel the invading mechanical army, uncovering the secrets of a mystical sword called the Monado along the way.

Xenoblade Chronicles is set to be launched later this year, featuring both English and Japanese voice-overs, and will be fully subtitled in English, French, Italian, German and Spanish. You can also check out the brand new official website to find out more about the game.
