Nintendo announced today that from April 25 it will be cutting the price of both Wii Sports Resort and Wii Party to $39.99. Since launching in 2009, Wii Sports Resort has sold more than 10.7 million copies in the United States alone. The game boasts 12 resort-themed activities such as basketball, golf, archery, wakeboarding and swordplay, all of which take place in the tropical paradise of Wuhu Island. As they swing their Wii Remote Plus controller like a golf club or wave it like a sword, the player’s movement will be replicated on-screen for an immersive, instantly enjoyable experience.

Wii Party features 13 party game modes and more than 80 minigames, in which the player can put their own Mii character into the heart of the action. Some of the included games put a twist on popular board games such as bingo, while others use the speaker and vibration functions of the Wii Remote to move the action beyond the TV screen and into the living room. In a game such as Hide ‘n’ Hunt, for example, players have to find Wii Remote controllers that have been hidden around the room, while in Animal Tracker they have to pick up the Wii Remote that’s making the correct animal sound.
