Yes sony made it even though it looks like a horrible fan made video, it was all part of their "all I want for xmas is a psp" ad campaign.
If you go on the site now ( http://www.alliwantforxmasisapsp.com/) it has changed to something much better.

But this Japanese link to the past ad always cracks me up, especially the awful costumes.

It's an advert, they're right to be bonkers. If that's what Nintendo thought they could offer, fair does. But, if we all wanted adverts to be that of a reality we'd be insane, not that adverts aren't really annoying anyway. But, isn't the whole point of a console to escape from reality?
