nintendo wii purchase in bahrain

please can somebody help. i need to buy a wii for my kids for xmas i am currently in bahrain and have found a place that has loads. There are no region codes on the games it says its pal. can you tell me if it will just work with american region games or will it accept uk games . voltage is 220-240 volts
