No progressive scan on UK Wii's?

Surely this can't be right, I just saw this guy's comment on Amazon.co.uk about the official component cable:

A must have for any Wii user with a HDTV, the Nintendo official component cable will produce the best quality image possible on the Wii.

Although it hasn't been officially confirmed that PAL Wii games will support progressive scan like the US, it's definitely good news to see this item readily available on UK/EU launch day, and a good indicator that us Nintendo fans will be blessed with progressive scan this time round!

What's that all about? I thought it had been confirmed. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Nah, when games are created, the only thing really separating the US version and the Europe versions are region locks, almost never do each region get something different.

European TVs use Pal, American's use NTSC.
Pal has 576 vertical lines, NTSC 480.

This could be the reason.
