Not playing .avi's?

So, I just got a new camera (Canon Powershot A570 IS) and a 2GB SD card inserted. Thinking that I could put my SD card to view my stuff on there, I do so. I can view my pictures flawlessly, but the videos that I've taken are a different story. It only shows the first frame of the video and like, 1 second of audio. Then it gives me the option to play it again, or play it backwards. I'm a little confused as to why it's not reading the videos correctly. I do believe my camera supports the MJPEG standard, and the movies are at 29.95fps with 640x480 resolution.

Any clue as to what could be wrong? I doubt it's changing NTSC to PAL, lol

.Avi is just an extension of what the format is (MJPEG,DivX,XVid, etc.). It may say it is a .mjpeg but the compression is off. The camera is simply using a different compression technique than the Wii can recognize. Programs like WiiVideo9 have figured out the compression technique somewhat. Just use a different converter and use a BIG SD card.
