I just purchased my Wii today and found an annoyance that seems like there should be an easy fix. I have been asked many times to confirm the time and date... I have an Internet connection... why not have the Wii synchronize its time with an NTP time server? As long as the Wii can connect with an NTP time server, it will have a better idea as to what time it is than I do! If this is already possible, how do I do it?

bigRoN, I agree, the lack of NTP support is a major oversight -- especially considering how time-dependent some of the Wii software is. The Wii can automatically download new firmware overnight, but it is unable to set it's own clock with a standardized easy-to-implement protocol. Even my telephone can synchronize it's own clock via NTP. I hope that they will address this in a future software release. With the console being designed for always-on Internet access, it only makes sense that it would support NTP clock sync, IMO.
