Photoshop Elements 5.0 vs Paint Shop Pro XI

Which one would you recommend?
I don't have any specific use for it I just want to start getting used to a digital imaging program.

I've always preferred the photoshop series personally. I found it easier to learn and there's just a ton of PS tutorial sites to help too.

Same here. I started on Paint Shop Pro 8-or-9, I don't recall exactly which; but I've always found Photoshop to have more potential and more usability.
