If you’ve been feeling a bit too much of a landlubber recently and fancy a life on the high seas as a swashbuckling rogue (and frankly, who doesn’t?!), Zoo Games has come up with a way that you can experience the jolly life of a pirate without ever having to leave your house, and with almost no danger of being forced to walk the plank. It’s called Pirate Blast, and it’s in shops now! In the game, players must defeat Captain Greasebeard and his evil robotic Henchbots and thwart their dastardly plans to take over Vile Isle, across eight challenging levels in locations such as villages, the jungle, a pirate cove and pirate ships. You’ll also come face to face with eight bosses, and in the end, the biggest boss of all, Greasebeard.

In addition to the standalone game, Pirate Blast will also be available as a bundle, with a blaster peripheral that can be attached to your Wii Remote.

The standalone version of the game is out now, for an MSRP of $19.99; the special edition Pirate Blast bundle with blaster peripheral is due to be released in March 2011 for an MSRP of $29.99.
