Playing Gamecube games on the Wii.

Hello everyone! I am so happy they have a site like this becaus it is soooo cool. I've had the Wii for about a month and the game is great. Someone gave me Mario Kart for the Gamecube today and said it will play on the Wii. I loaded it but it just shows the details about the game. What do I need to do to get the game to play? I only have the Wii controllers right now.

Gamecube controllers, if you live in australia they cost about $20 each go and by one yay (recommend 2 or 3 so u can play multiplayer)
