Please help me with a few stupid but IMPORTANT questions, thank you.

Hi all:

1. How long should the Wii update take? The test for wireless connection passed fine but so far the bar isn't moving at all. It's been 2 hrs. already.

2. What if my internet connection drops in the middle? Would that screw up the update or...?

Thank you all in advance. I could call the service line but they are closed for today!

the update for me takes about 30 or 20 minutes, if the connection fails the bar will just freeze.

yeah, just reset your system and try again. happened to me once cause my internet died in the middle of it. just watch your internet the whole time and don't let anybody else touch it and you should be fine.

However, what should I do in this situation? Turn it off?
It says "Do not power off the system" on the screen. I am afraid to update anything now. Last time I tried to do a BIOS update on my motherboard and suddenly the electricity went off and the motherboard was gone.

either that or hold down the power button for about 5 seconds. either one works fine. don't worry, i've had to do it a lot with the shop channel, it doesn't hurt your system at all. use the rep if i helped you, its the scales.

my update only took 5 minutes or so when i did it.

My first update was about 5-10 minutes but all the other updates only took less then a minute.

My update got stuck the first and second times I tried it. It just quit on me my internet was still working. But 3rd times a charm and it worked.
