Many releases today:

Mike Johnson is reporting that WWE has released developmental talents Ace Steele, former TNA star Cassidy Riley, Robert Anthony, Michael DiPaolo, Shawn McGrath and George Murdoch. DiPaolo is the former Roadkill of ECW fame. As we noted a few weeks back, DiPaolo had drawn a great deal of heat in Ohio Valley Wrestling and had shown up for shows and not used before missing a few shows.

also:

WWE has come to terms on the release of Bobby Lashley as of today. We wish Bobby the best in all future endeavors.

also the one of many reasons for lashelys release:

source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

-- One source of Bobby Lashley's discontention with WWE had to do with his payoff from WrestleMania 23. He received $250,000 for his efforts in his heavily-hyped match with Umaga. Lashley was said to be furious with the payoff, and he complained about it. Considering that he was the winner of the biggest-drawing match in WrestleMania history, he believes that was entitled to more. Also, even though he was injured for nearly half the year, several sources have indicated that Lashley earned somewhere in the neighborhood of $1 million in 2007, and that's without being much of a merchandise draw

Thats the latest news you WWE marks.

Lashley whining?
$250'000 is pretty fine for WM...

WWE SEVERS TIES WITH OHIO VALLEY WRESTLING; ALL DEVELOPMENTAL TALENTS BEING MOVED TO FLORIDA
by Mike Johnson @ 12:39:26 PM on 2/7/2008

In a meeting with contracted developmental talent today, World Wrestling Entertainment's Ty Bailey and John Laurinaitis announced that the company was severing its ties with the Louisville, Kentucky-based Ohio Valley Wrestling and that all of the wrestlers stationed there would be heading to Florida Championship Wrestling, which at this point, would be the company's the sole remaining developmental territory.

Laurinaitis told the talents that WWE had decided they wanted all of their developmental talent in one place and from a logistical standpoint, it didn't make business sense to have talents in Kentucky, particularly since so many WWE names live in Florida, giving the developmental talents access to learning from a multitude of current and former stars who reside within a close proximity of FCW.

Talent were told that there will be no releases stemming from OVW shutting down and that they will all be relocated to Tampa after finishing a few more weeks in OVW.

Laurinaitis praised Danny Davis and the track record he had for helping the development of a number of stars including Batista, John Cena and Randy Orton, among others. There's no word yet on the status of OVW trainer Al Snow at this point and he was never mentioned during the talent meeting. Snow and Davis were present during the meeting.

Talent were told the trainers in FCW would be Tom Prichard, Steve Keirn, former WWE star Billy Kidman and one other name I haven't confirmed. FCW is slated to run its first official TV taping later this month and there have been plans in place to run a regular schedule of live events in Florida.

The move had been suspected for some time as the amount of contracted talents working in Louisville had dwindled greatly in the last year and morale in OVW overall had fallen. World Wrestling Entertainment owns the OVW video library, so they will continue to have access to any footage that was produced during its run as a developmental territory.

wow, thats really gay. OVW was greatness now they just kill it to move to florida.

Vickie Guerrero makes her way out to ringside and says that she is excited. There are flowers and balloons in the ring with red carpet with a white heart in the middle of it.

A symphony type band comes out and plays a slow song in which WWE World Heavyweight Champion Edges comes out too. He says that he has to ask his soul mate a question. According to our correspondent, he sings We Are In Heaven by Brian Michaels. He proposes to Vickie, she says yes. They kiss and proceed to make out.

Rey Mysterio comes out and says that this is the most disgusting thing that he has ever seen and tells Vickie that she is putting the Guerrero name to shame.

Edge attacks Rey but Mysterio ends up hitting the 619. Mysterio goes for another high flying maneuver but Edge ducks and he connects on Vickie.

Dark Match Main Event:

Rey Mysterio defeated Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins via disqualification.
As Rey is getting beat up, Batista comes out for the save. Mysterio nails the 619 on one of the Edge Heads and a Frog Splash. Batista & Rey celebrate in the ring together.

/\ to above results, sounds like a yaaawn smackdown once again

What a prick. Lashley had it made and he just ruined his life, no exaggerations whatsoever. You all know how Vince loves the big guys, Lashley would have been living the high life, but he just screwed himself over. Biggest mistake he'll ever make.
