Question Abt Backwards Compatability

Thinking of getting a Wii when It comes out in the UK. Just wondering of its backwards compatability...itll play GC games right? Will it play my Japanese Smash Bros on a UK Wii?

No it will be region locked for gamecube too

If you have the Datel Freeloader then it will beable to play other region gamecube games

Will the wiimote and nunchuck (Obviously not the motion sensor) work with the gamecube? Wanted to go back and play Wind Waker and RE4, as I haven't been a Nintendo user since N64.
