Hey peeps, after playing my xbox 360 for a few months now; i notice how loud and hot it gets.

I recently discovered that the manufacturing date is the 21/11/06, so i gathered that i have one of the older wave Xbox's that will die sometime soon.

Now, im going to clean out all my old games etc, to get some trade in credit. Now here is the question do i go for the Xbox Elite bundle or the PS3. I do enjoy the Xbox but if PS3 is going to end on top this year id rather be in that wagon, im also going to purchase a Blu ray player sometime soon.

Anyway, is there any big games the Xbox is getting in 08? that i should get the elite or if the elite RRODS :S

at some stage the PS3 will probably be where the 360 is now, with loads
of games available. at the moment it's just not competetive enough which
is a shame as it's a really good machine.

the question for you is, do you want a games console with loads of games
already out and loads of new titles in the pipeline or do you want a good
blu-ray player which will double up as a good console sometime in the future?

personally, i'd go for one of the newer "pro" systems with HDMI and save
yourself a bit of money (unless having a 120GB drive is a priority) and spend
whatever you save on an Elite on a few games.

I doubt PS3 will be on top, but it should get better. No one is a psychic so no one knows if the games will actually do good or not, its all speculation. But I wouldn't buy an Elite. I would just get a pro. Elite and Pro is the same thing except Elite has bigger hard drive. But be sure to know gamestop will rip you off. Also just because it was made in 06 doesn't mean its going to mess up. But if it gets real hot maybe (mine doesn't). But either way it has a 3 year warranty.

But in 2009, when the majority of Wii owners turn 12, they will decide that cussing people out on COD4 online is more fun than playing games that dont actually suck (I.E. Halo 3, Most overated game ever, bought/sold in a week.)

Dont buy a PS3 or a 360, buy a YBox540, or maybe even an atari 2198

Well, it would prolly be a good idea to stick with the 360 just trade in for the elite one (Wouldnt it be suss to trade in a pro console for another pro one lol).

Mine does get really hot/very loud, whereas my mates pro is quite as/never gets hot.

And yer iv never been a PS3 fan, all the fanboys have been praying for 08 some miracle year for the ps3.

ill make sure its one of the newer wave models so i cant lose

but you won't be trading a "Pro" for a "Pro".

if yours is an '06 model, then it will be a "Premium".

the "Pro" tag is given to the later '07 (Zephyr / Falcon mobo) HDMI
360's.

there's nothing suss at all.....except if your 360 has been banned from
live for being modded that is!!

i sold my "premium" during May last year and have since bought a new
"Pro" system for my son at Christmas.....just make sure that when you
purchase the console you make sure that the HDMI logo is visible on
the packaging. when i initially purchased my son's 360 (in Nov 07) it
turned out to be an Oct 06 manufactured model so i took it back and
made them exchange it for a late 07 360 instead.
