Days ago Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition was released in the US for the budget price of US$29.99, yet in a couple of days , on the 5th of July here in Australia RE4:WE is going to be released for AU$70.00.

Although here is Oz AU$70 is a considered a budget price. Now those of us that actually now about exchange rates now that we are getting ripped. See US$30 = about AU$35 yet we may have to play double that.

WTF?!?

no matter the reason, that is just straight rough, sorry you guys get ripped that hard.

70 au dollars = £30, thats what I have to pay for it :prrr:

We are practically "Rip-Off Central."

byuakuya, there's no "practically" about it.

ours is normally a straight conversion, what gets released
in the states for $400 cost £400 over here, which at current
rates is a shade under £200.

Proud to be an American lol..

But seriously, that stinks for you all. Just be glad you got strikers while we get POKEMON. I think thats worse than the High prices :)

couldnt agree with you more, im disappointed that we ended up with pokemon when everybody else got strikers.

If any of you understood how economies worked you'd realise we don't get ripped off as badly as is made out in the UK...

Everything is relative. American's earn average salaries of around $22,000 in the same way it's about £22,000 in the UK. The fact our money is worth more in their country is completely irrelevant.... Thus £30 for the average Joe in the UK is the same sort of expenditure from their incomes as $30 is for the average Joe in America. It's no where near as bad as everyone makes out....

Well explained DazzeL. This is true in UK however in Australia...

American average wage: $35000
Australian average wage: $40000 / 14.25% more.

American Full Price Game: $50
Projected Australian Price: $57
Actual Australian Price: $100
Rip-Off: $43

American Budget Game: $30
Projected Australian Price: $34
Actual Australian Price: $60-$80
Rip Off: $26-$46

American Wii: $250
Projected Australian Price: $286
Actual Australian Price: $400
Rip-Off: $114

Saying something costs the equivilant of $70 USD in one area and $30 in another area isn't enough information. For instance, what is the average income in each region? the average cost of living?
