Required Internet Speed

Im getting a Ps3 and im looking to play it online(Also the wii too!) but im wondering what internet speed i need, my dads just got 8 mb wireless broadbrand at £17.99 month, i was wondering if this is good enough to play online with little or no lag, and if not could u suggest a better option, also has to be fairly close to the price im paying at the moment per month, thanks.

There isn't a required speed. You could even play with dial up if you had to. 8MB will be fine.

Kk, thanks, its just i read a discussion with some americans where they said you would need a internet speed at 100mbps(mega bytes per second) im not sure what speed that is, is that 10mb pr 1mb broadbrand?
