Road to the Strikers Cup. Saving.

Well... my friends were over yesterday, and we were playing the road to the strikers cup (4 player) and we kept getting beaten in the elimination rounds, and we realized if we shut the wii off, we'd be beaten as well. We were getting so pissed off and so one of my friends decided to save and quit before the elimination rounds and save the data to my sd card. then if we lose, we could come back.

I thought it was genius. So we did, but we never finished cuz they had to leave.

Have any of you tried something like this?

No I haven't. I lost once when I first got it, and now I've gotten far, and I'm beating it again.
